JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key responsibilities of a Pharmacy Assistant include:
- Patient greeting and confirmation of accuracy of all pertinent prescription information prior to filling. This includes clinical diagnosis or reason for the prescription which the Pharmacist will enter in the patient’s file.
- Data entry of patient care information into Kroll.
- Third Party adjudication where required and necessary.
- Accurate dispensing of prescription medications.
- Maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems.
- General OTC enquiries from patients and referral to Pharmacist where required and necessary.
- Handling customer prescription pick up.
- Assisting with cashier responsibilities as required in the Pharmacy.
- Managing monthly/weekly tasks such as but not limited to: inventory management, expiry removal/destruction, facing/dusting, equipment calibration, backorder management, return to stock etc.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Registered with the corresponding provincial licensing college, in good standing.
- Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program
- Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Strong motivation to succeed
- Proficient computer/data/entry skills
WORK HOURS:
Flex schedule – some weekends and evenings
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Salary: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
