Chief Financial Officer – Bristol Car and Truck Rentals

Integral HR Solutions is partnering with Bristol Car and Truck Rentals to recruit a strategic thinking Chief Financial Officer. As a key member of the leadership team, the CFO will report to the President and assume a strategic role.

The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, costing, property management, deal analysis and negotiations.

Bristol has been offering car and truck rentals in the Greater Toronto Area since 1992. We have fostered a reputation for honesty, integrity, customer service, and vehicle reliability. Our 12 operating locations offer full suite of rental vehicle options including commercial and moving truck rentals, refrigerated trucks, trailers and passenger vans. A Canadian owned and operated business, Bristol is a neighbourhood vehicle rental supplier, serving local communities throughout the GTA.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
• Oversee the management and coordination of all financial reporting activities for the organization.
• Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting for the Company.
• Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
• Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
• Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors.
• Monitor banking activities of the organization and assist in managing banking relationships.
• Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization’s needs.
• Oversee the production of monthly reports, financial statements and cash flow projections.
• Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with senior leaders so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
• Develop the finance and accounting team, raising awareness, knowledge and competence of financial management matters.
• Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new initiatives and strategic business development plans.
• Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
• Provide the General Manager with an operating budget and required forecasts.
• Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets.
• Management and reporting of all bank covenants and oversight of borrowings and lending agreements.
• Construct and monitor reliable control systems.
• Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
• Supervise acquisition and due dillignce processes.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of cash flow management, financial accounting, and corporate finance.

• Abiilty to apply effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to identify trends, establish benchmarks, and provide credible analysis and sound business recommendations.
• Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion.
• Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures.
• Knowledge and ability of software applications (e.g. QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, Excel,, etc.).
• Knowledge of operating and capital budget concepts.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
• Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions.
• Ability to provide effective leadership.
• Ability to develop professional business reletionships.
• Ability to effectively use a modern automated financial management system.
• Abilit to aapply effective organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
• Solid business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit with a budget focused mindset.
• Ablity to apply effective leadership and people management skills to build a collaborative team environment, instilling commitment, and communicating change effectively.

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of a CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA (Required)
• Proven experience in the area of financial statement preparation, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, or the equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $125,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
