September 1, 2024 for up to 3 years (June 30, 2027) – subject to annual budget approval and/or annual system organization and Ministry funding continuance.
Position Summary
The Student Achievement Consultant: Arts K-12 will be responsible for providing direction and leadership for the overall administration and coordination of Arts programs in elementary and secondary schools. The programming will support and enhance current effective instructional and assessment practices in Dance, Dramatic Arts, Music and Visual Arts. This includes developing, planning, managing, supporting, organizing and implementing Arts programs within schools and providing leadership for District-wide initiatives such as but not limited to the Celebration of the Arts and the Board Arts Exhibition initiatives. The Student Achievement Consultant; Arts K-12 will work collaboratively with the Student Achievement Leader: School Effectiveness K-12 and be responsible to the Superintendent of Education (Curriculum).
Qualifications
Basic* : Primary/Junior Divisions and/or Junior/Intermediate Divisions and/or Intermediate/Senior Divisions
Additional : Specialist qualifications in Dance, Dramatic Arts, Music (Instrumental or Vocal) or Visual Arts or post -secondary equivalent;
Experience : Minimum of five (5) years teaching
Other : – Deep knowledge of research-based instructional strategies;
must hold the Qualifications noted above at time of application .
Duties And Responsibilities
The
Student Achievement Consultant: Arts K-12 will be responsible for coordinating the development and enhancement of the Arts curriculum for instructional programs/related programs and will lead professional development across the district. The Student Achievement Consultant: Art K-12 will assist principals and elementary educators, in supporting, evaluating and improving classroom integrative Arts programming. The Student Achievement Consultant: Arts K-12 may be assigned other duties as directed by the Superintendent of Education (Curriculum).
