YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate routine HR activities including: recruitment, process approvals, onboarding, exit interviews, payroll inputting, standard reporting and all related HR documentation;
Execute the full cycle national recruitment for all non-management roles: job postings, resume screening, phone screens, interview scheduling and participation, background checks, occupational assessments and references;
Work in partnership with internal clients through the recruitment cycle; ensures an efficient and effective hiring process is being followed; acts as a consultant to internal clients to ensure appropriate recruitment strategies are being implemented.
Meet established hiring targets for internal client group(s) and provides superior client service to internal client groups as a valued-added business partner.
Contribute strategic ideas regarding sourcing candidates, marketing and assessment tools.
Track and maintain necessary data to support candidate recommendations, summaries and debriefs
First point of contact for employee inquiries and elevate matters as required;
Prepare, deliver and follow up on approved offer letters and onboarding documents;
Coach leaders on basic employee relations matters and elevates more complex matters to the Senior Specialist or Director;
Assist with HR administrative matters such as HR metrics, employment verification letters, HRIS troubleshooting and administration;
Support the HR team through active participation in ad hoc meetings, training and other project assignments;
Ensure employee file and sign-off requirements are accurate and up-to-date;
Organize new hire Health and Safety and AODA training;
Complete other tasks and special projects as required.
YOUR PROFILE
Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent
Prior work experience in a talent acquisition role (3-5 years minimum)
Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
Computer skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of provincial and/or statutory labour standards and related legislation
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
Highly organized and possesses effective time management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and self-directed environment, whether remotely or in office
Previous experience with a unionized environment preferred
Ability to work in a remote/hybrid environment
