Broadstreet Properties Looking for Chief Information Officer at Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada Full Time

Broadstreet Properties Ltd., partnered with Seymour Pacific Developments, is seeking to add a senior Information Technology (“IT”) leader to head it’s IT work group, across our organization. You are a transformationational IT leader, passionate about fostering a result-oriented team through innovation, professionalism, and a commitment to operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional IT background as well as strong leadership, business, and strategy skills.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) plays a crucial role in creating, implementing, and managing the strategic vision of the company’s IT department ensuring all necessary systems are in place to support its operations and objectives. You are responsible for overseeing and optimizing the computer systems and technology resources. You will also provide leadership and advisement to our executives, the IT department and all other cross-functional work groups. Your goal is to ensure IT adds maximum value and contributes to the overall success of our organization, across multiple different lines of business. The successful candidate will reside in Campbell River, BC, or Winnipeg, MB, and be an active participant in our office environment.

Your contributions to the team:

• Create strategic IT objectives and strategies for the department that supports the businesses overall objectives.
• Plan, select and implement suitable technology initiatives to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits.
• Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience.
• Ensure that technology investments are in line with corporate goals.
• Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers.
• As a steward of our enterprise IT architecture, you will lead the design and enhancement of systems architecture, ensuring the integrity and security of our computer network and applications.
• Provide leadership to our IT staff, you will oversee operating plans, budgets for operational and capital expenditures and review proposals for hardware and software acquisitions.
• Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage.
• Analyze the costs, value, and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions.
• Provide advice and direction to the executive team, department heads, staff, and users on various information technology matters, identifying issues and recommending effective solutions or best practices.
• Mentor supervisory staff to foster an engaged and collaborative work environment.
• Monitor and manage network and computer systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.

What you need to be successful:

• 10+ years’ experience as CIO or similar senior IT leadership role
• BSc/BA in computer science, business, or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred.
• Experience working in construction or property management industries is an asset.
• Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT and Privacy
• Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
• Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management
• Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
