Job Description
Responsibilities
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding of investments including the review of organizational structures and funds flow, manage the treasury process, review cash management and loan agreements, closing statements, purchase price allocations, reporting etc.
- Reporting – Fund reporting and SEC 40 Act Reporting
- Prepare/review financial statements and investor reporting prepared in accordance with the SEC 40 Act, US GAAP and IFRS with the assistance of external fund administrators
- Liaise with the external fund administrators as well as the external audit and tax firms
- Financial, Planning & Analysis, and Liquidity
- Review and consolidate valuation and fund financial models
- Provide oversight of quarterly and annual financial reporting submissions from operating assets including compliance with group reporting policies, preforming variance analysis and reviewing capital expenditure forecast
- Help in the preparation of an annual budget as well as a 5-year business plan
- Support management of the fund’s liquidity and capital needs
- Corporate Finance, Treasury and Risk Management
- Help with the execution and maintenance of fund level debt, including bank facilities and potential capital markets issuances
- Support the hedging program and related foreign exchange and interest rate exposures
- Monitor cash management for the fund
- Assist with value-add initiatives
- Prepare analyses as part of the fundraising and investor management processes
- Assist in preparation of various analyses and reports for senior management and the board of directors to support business decision making
- Assist as needed with due diligence related to investments and dispositions
- Lead technological initiatives to enhance data reporting capabilities, with the goal to achieve more timely and meaningful reporting to stakeholders of the fund
Qualifications
- University degree in Business or Finance
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience with a mix of public accounting, audit and/or industry experience; experience in infrastructure, semi-liquid/mutual funds and/or private funds is considered an asset
- Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
- Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Highly analytical with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, can work effectively with all levels and departments within a complex organization
- Can work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines
- Strategic thinker that can think outside the box, focused on efficiency and improving existing processes
- Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
