Director Patient Support Programs

Introduction
We are currently hiring a Director of Patient Support Programs (PSP) for our client based in the Western region of the Greater Toronto Area. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient-centric initiatives, fostering patient empowerment, enhancing access opportunities, and leveraging digital platforms for insightful patient data. The Director PSP will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence within patient support programs while leading a team to achieve strategic objectives. This position requires on-site presence three days a week.
Responsibilities
- Establish and cultivate the company’s patient support program, fostering a patient-centric mindset throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement patient-centric strategies, emphasizing the importance of patient research, data utilization, and innovative ways of working.
- Engage patients and patient groups in strategic planning, ensuring mutual value creation.
- Develop and execute targeted PSPs, addressing the unique needs of patient populations and exploring common platforms across therapeutic areas.
- Elevate operational excellence through governance standardization, PSP data analytics, and the integration of technology solutions.
- Provide strategic guidance to business units, access, and medical functions aligned with patient-centric objectives.
- Lead, manage, and develop the PSP team, overseeing performance, individual growth, and recruitment.
- Design and implement programs, policies, and strategies tailored to achieve PSP goals.
- Evaluate and measure the success of strategies and programs, offering consultative services to business units.
- Drive short- and long-term planning for PSP, preparing budgetary recommendations aligned with functional goals.
Requirements
- University degree in Science, Quantitative Studies, or Business; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
- 8-10 years of proven experience in a large pharmaceutical organization with a customer/patient-centric focus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to empower and develop teams positively.
- In-depth understanding of cross-functional collaboration in a patient-centric approach.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation abilities.
- Experience with healthcare data, platforms, and applications.
- Ability to design and implement SOPs safeguarding patient data, insights, and privacy.
- Demonstrated experience in building patient support programs and organizational development is an asset.
