Position: Customer Service Representative
Location: 375 Gage Avenue North, Hamilton Ontario
Status: Full Time Permanent
Summary
The Customer Service Representative sells Budget Bin’s services to prospective and established customers. Whether at the counter, on the phone or through email or fax, this role determines customer’s needs by answering questions, creating solutions, and ensuring a smooth and quick sales process. The Customer Service Representative is also responsible for meeting established sales quotas, closing new customers opportunities, growing sales with current customers, and increasing customer satisfaction. Must be knowledgeable of the organization’s policies, procedures, practices, and services.
Responsibilities
Communicate with customer across Southern Ontario by answering all incoming calls, e-mails, and other customer requests
Process manual and electronic orders and follow up on those orders to ensure orders are processed by established customer cutoff times
Continuously work to reduce errors and identify areas for improvement within workflow processes
Committed to maintaining the company core focus of providing exceptional customer experience. This includes meeting customer retention goals and being able to communicate to and work with the Customer Service Manager to resolve unique customer issues
Become a subject matter expect on the Budget Bin Rental Program & Customer Standards, knowledge of customers, and pricing
Effectively communicate pricing and service terms and conditions and promote other Budget Bin’s business opportunities, referring internally as appropriate
Effectively use Budget Environmental Disposal Inc’s sales software tools (i.e. prospect and customer database, Soft Pak, pricing resources, etc.)
Propose customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, provincial, and federal regulations.
Achieve performance goals as set out by management team
Develop personal capabilities using existing training opportunities
Participate in scheduled training of system enhancements, applications, products, new processes, and procedures
Liaise with internal teams such as sales, operations, and finance to identify areas for customer experience improvement and enlist Management support as needed
Specific Skill Requirements
Working knowledge of the waste recycling industry
Customer service oriented (friendly, courteous, proactive, and helpful)
Excellent communication skills (active listening, verbal and written)
High level of detail & quality of work output
Works well under pressure, enjoys a challenging and fast paced environment
Ability to recognize and resolve issues independently and/or with assistance
Consistently exhibits high level of motivation and sense of urgency
Action oriented, displays resilience, and delivers results
Ability to prioritize and achieve performance goals as set out by management
Strong time management and organizational skills – speed, flexibility, and agility
Demonstrates a collaborative approach when working with others

Computer proficiency on a variety of systems including but not limited to: Internal order management system, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Ability to identify and escalate issues to management team
