Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion
Finance Manager
The Organization
The Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI) was created in 1956, when parents gathered in Burnaby to advocate for the rights of their children with disabilities. They have grown into one of British Columbia’s largest nonprofit organizations supporting children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities. With an annual budget of over $30M and 500 staff (BCGEU), they provide human-centred services to over 1,000 individuals and their families across Metro Vancouver each year.
BACI provides a wide range of training, development, social, recreational, and employment opportunities. Key services for adults include community inclusion, economic inclusion (employment services & training), life sharing, supported housing, family support, subsidized housing, co-housing, and outreach & self-advocacy. For children and youth, BACI operates five accessible childcare centres as well as youth programs. Their childcare sites are included among the Province’s Universal Child Care sites.
BACI is lauded throughout the sector for their strategic approach to innovation. With their formal Design and Innovation Team they have been at the forefront of creating a wide range of new online and in-person programs for both persons served and staff.
