Laker is looking for a General Accountant to join our team.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Processes and reconciles all vendor related invoices.
- Prepares and generates bi-weekly cheque runs.
- Prepares and maintains month end journal entry checklist
- Prepares and posts month end journal entries as required
- Assists in development and communication of annual budget and forecast.
- Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
- Analyze general accounts and identify, recommend or prepare journal entries/accruals as required
- Assists with the annual financial audit
- Identifies opportunities to streamline or automate processes to continuously improve service
- Posts bi-weekly payroll journal entries including all required adjustments
- Processes and pays all government remittances such as WSIB and HST
- Takes on other ad hoc assignments
Qualifications:
- Degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a General Accounting or similar role.
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence decisions and interact with all levels of management.
- Ability to produce high quality work-product in a time-sensitive fashion.
- Ability to work independently and multi-task.
