CAE Looking for Fleet Technical Management Leader at Mont-Royal, Quebec, Canada Full Time

Objectives of this Role

As the Fleet Technical Management (FTM) Leader, your primary role is to lead the development of the FTM department, establish internal procedures, and liaise effectively with clients to ensure efficient and comprehensive technical management support for airlines. In addition to the duties outlined below, the FTM department will also be responsible for assisting airline clients with aircraft redelivery and aircraft phase-in processes.

CAE Parc Fleet Technical Management Services offers extensive technical management support to airlines by managing aircraft airworthiness on behalf of clients. As the FTM Leader, your key objective is to ensure that the acceptance, management, and returns of aircraft under CAE Parc Management are executed as per scheduled dates and in compliance with the client’s technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strong leadership to the Fleet Technical Management (FTM) department, overseeing a team of professionals responsible for daily operational tasks. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, with a focus on enhancing safety in the services provided.
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their fleet technical management needs and ensure that the FTM department delivers services that align with client expectations.
• Lead the budgeting process for the FTM department, ensuring the allocation of resources and funds necessary to meet departmental goals.
• Development of growth strategies for the FTM department, identifying opportunities for expanding services and enhancing client satisfaction
• Participate in the development of commercial proposals for potential clients, leveraging your technical expertise and knowledge to create compelling and competitive offers.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations for departmental staff, provide feedback, and support their professional development.
• Manage client relationships, addressing their evolving needs and proactively seeking opportunities to enhance service offerings.
• As the fleet technical Management leader being responsible for the activities and projects of the department, including but not limited to
• Manage aircraft airworthiness on behalf of clients as defined in the relevant IPM
• Manage aircraft acceptance, return, and transfer projects, coordinating activities among CAE Parc departments, lessors, and clients to ensure seamless transitions.
• Assess MPD (Maintenance Planning Document), MRBR (Maintenance Review Board Report), ADs (Airworthiness Directives), and SBs (Service Bulletins) to ensure aircraft compliance with applicable maintenance and airworthiness requirements.
• Develop the client’s Aircraft Maintenance Program to incorporate new aircraft under CAE Parc Fleet Management.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including maintenance records, flight logs, and aircraft configuration documents, and oversee the team’s reporting responsibilities.
• Develop and manage aircraft reliability programs.
• Review the client’s MEL (Minimum Equipment List) to accommodate new aircraft under CAE Parc Fleet Management.
• Manage the entry of maintenance requirements into the Maintenance Management System, and oversee the team’s use of this system to track and manage maintenance activities.
• Create bulletins and engineering orders to adapt aircraft configurations to meet client-specific regulatory and operational requirements.
• Review and develop bridging maintenance workscopes.
• Maintain updated records of aircraft configuration, Weight & Balance, and Electronic Load Analysis.

Skills and Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in senior technical roles within an airline’s Technical Services or CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization).

Demonstrated expertise in guiding technical teams, collaborating with clients, and overseeing financial and budgetary matters.

In-depth knowledge of Regulations (EC) No. 2018/1139, (EU) No. 748/2012, (EU) No. 1321/2014, and (EU) No. 965/2012, as well as related regulations and procedures.

Excellent command of the English language.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects and initiatives in a cross-functional environment.

Proficiency in simplifying complex processes and writing procedures.

Strong communication skills for conveying data-driven results.

Willingness and ability to travel when required.
