Position Summary

The Human Resources Assistant is a member of the Employee Services department responsible for supporting the Employee Advising & Development team. Reporting to the Manager, Employee Advising & Development, the HR Assistant will be responsible for the administration and clerical functions primarily related to data maintenance and Stampede time orientations, recognition programs and employment letters.

Please note: This is a 4-month Co-op term from May 2023 – August 2023

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Support Employee Services team in data validation and maintenance of e-learning completion for Seasonal employees
• Prepare materials to support Stampede time recognition programs and distribution to the various departments
• File management related to employment letters and documents
• Prepare, format and organize documents, reports and presentations to support seasonal orientations, year-round onboarding
• Support conducting exit interviews and offboarding
• Ensure a positive image of the Calgary Stampede by maintaining effective relationship while providing timely information of program schedules, resources and communications
• Perform data entry, list management, and budget tracking for a variety of projects
• Perform varied administrative duties and clerical functions when providing reception coverage
• Support special projects and program initiatives as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:
• Co-op eligible student in Business, Human Resources or Administration
• Previous experience working in professional office environment considered an asset
• Previous experience working within human resource information and / or applicant tracking systems (HRIS Systems)
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail, with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work
• Strong oral and written communication skills via phone, email and in-person
• Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook are essential, and advanced proficiencies in Microsoft Excel will be an asset.
• Previous experience as administrator within HR, recruitment, payroll and/or benefits considered an asset
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
