Calian Group Looking for Vehicle Technician Instructor at Borden, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Position Overview

Calian augments the training capacity of the Canadian Armed Forces by providing civilian support. As a Bilingual Vehicle Technician Instructor, you will work as part of the Calian team at the RCEME school at CFB Borden, training the next generation of military technicians on automotive and/or heavy-duty equipment (in both languages).

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the workshop, with particular attention to health and safety
• Instruct students on the use of tools and equipment, as well as mechanical processes/procedures
• Develop lesson plans according to the curriculum (making us of provided materials)
• Prepare reports on student progress, advising students of their performance in the course

Qualifications

This position requires a Government of Canada Security Clearance (level Secret), that Calian can assist with. Additional requirements include:

• A regular Force QL5 (DP2) Veh Tech Certificate (For Canadian Armed Forces Members)

OR a current certification in:

• Ozone Depleting Products AND
• WHMIS

Plus one of the following:

• Graduation from a two year college Automotive Service Technician diploma program
• Graduation from a two year college Heavy Duty Equipment Technician diploma program
• Eligibility for registration as an Automotive Service Technician or a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician by a recognized Canadian licensing body

OR

• A current Provincially recognized automotive technician license

Additional Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years in the automotive or heavy equipment industry
• A minimum of 3 years teaching adults in the last 10 years
• Bilingual – English and French preferred but not mandatory
