Calian Looking for Intermediate Military Vehicle Technician at Edmonton, AB Full Time

Position Summary:
Calian is currently looking for Military Technicians to support the Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle (TAPV) fleet. The TMVs will provide in-situ technical advice and part failure inherency determination assistance to military and civilian maintenance personnel at the assigned bases.
Responsibilities:

• Conducting testing of parts or components to assist in initial mode of failure determination on parts and components being returned through the supply system;
• Provide notes to the work orders to the respect of the failure mode, properly reflecting the IETM, and verify the inputted values from the unit technicians for failure methods and resetting data inputs;
• Provide vehicle operation, maintenance and supply advice to unit personnel;
• Provide advice on investigations for supply chain issues, hastening, and verification of parts demands;
• Communicate regularly with the Senior TMV in support of technical tasks;
• Advise and assist in the delivery of training on the specifics of maintenance of the TAPV including the use of TAPV Special Tools and Test Equipment (STTE) and the IETM; and
• Communicate with all supported maintenance units and local maintenance point of contacts on the status of parts and work orders.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Must currently hold or be eligible for Secret (Level II) Clearance with the Government of Canada
• Must have a Red Seal Certification as either a Heavy Equipment Technician, Automotive Technician, Parts Technician, or Military Equivalent
• 15+ years of experience as a military technician on armoured vehicles
• 15+ years of experience working in a workshop with overhead cranes, moveable technical equipment, and heavy machinery
• 15+ years of experience ordering parts using an enterprise application
• 2+ years of experience conducting repairs to armoured vehicles
• 2+ years of experience on the utilization of test equipment for armoured vehicles
• Experience providing technical training on hydraulic systems
