Position Title: Technical Library Manager
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Status: Full Time
Start Date: Immediately

Position Summary:
The position will be responsible for overseeing the Technical Publication and Company Manual Library for the Maintenance Department, which will in turn ensure the maintaining of various maintenance libraries & coordination with subject matter experts for developing revisions of company manuals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Operations:

• Establish procedures to control storage, up to date revisions, distribution, and reproduction of technical library data
• Coordinates and keeps the Director of Maintenance Programs informed of all library and licensing/subscription requirements
• Ensures all maintenance department company manuals are formatted, typed, and distributed correctly
• Maintains and conducts scheduled audits of both the digital and physical Libraries
• Maintain the companies Engineering Order directory and update as required
• Coordinate and provide administrative assistance to personnel wanting access to the library, external websites and company programs
• Maintain the maintenance department forms directory
• Assist and train personnel in the use and maintenance of technical publications libraries
• Carrying out Quality Assurance functions as directed by the VP of Quality & Safety
• Assisting with and supporting all policies and procedures regarding the Calm Air SMS Program, as outlined in the company Safety Management Manual, CAV-1001
• Other duties as assigned

MANAGERS, SUPERVISORS AND LEADS – have been delegated the authority and are responsible to the Department Head to actively identify hazards and deficiencies and report through the SMS (Safety Management System) Program reporting system. Communicate with all personnel within their respective department and other departments as required to maintain effective day to day activities. Ensure regulatory and company standards are maintained. Assist in the development and maintenance of company processes and procedures. (Quality Assurance activities). Carry out their duties safely within regulatory and company standards, policies, processes, and procedures as trained. Use safety equipment (tools, Proper Protective Equipment etc.) as provided. Actively identify and report hazards and deficiencies (when in doubt report). Assist in development of company processes and procedures as required.

Financial:

• Adhere to all financial internal controls
• Engage in ongoing cost reduction analysis within your department

Leadership:

• Change management leader – execute change while supporting employees through communication, listening and actioning
• Create and maintain a positive company culture that supports employee participation
• Actively support the safety management system by following SMS processes and encouraging a safety reporting culture in your department
• Promote occupational health and safety within your department and participate in the development and monitoring of safety training
• Proactively communicate hazards and SMS initiatives with your department
• Embark on employment equity initiatives; engaging with all employees to promote employment equity and encouraging employees to undertake the self-declaration survey updating as necessary
• All levels of the organization share responsibility for human rights within the organization including overseeing and promoting continuous improvement on human rights and employment equity initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Previous experience in a related field considered an asset
• Post-secondary education in Library and Information Technology considered as asset
• Excellent literacy skills
• Previous Aviation experience is considered an asset
• Proficiency with computers (MS Office and SharePoint)
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance
