Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for planning, development and implementation of all Human Resources function at the strategic and tactical level, in collaboration with all functional areas of the organization, including labour and employee relations, performance management, organizational development, recruitment, health and safety, environmental compliance, payroll, pension, benefits and legal compliance. Please note, this is an on-site position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop, lead, and coordinate Human Resources policies and programs, including labour and employee relations, performance management, organizational development, recruitment, health and safety, environmental compliance, payroll, pension, benefits and legal compliance.

· Develop and implement strategic Human Resources plans in all functional areas to align with the Company’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

· Develop and implement a labour relations strategy to achieve fair and equitable collective agreement administration, grievance, mediation and arbitration processes and collective bargaining.

· Lead employee engagement to achieve a high-performance employee culture of trust and commitment.

· Develop and implement recruitment processes to proactively attract and retain high performance talent for the organization including sourcing, hiring and onboarding.

· Lead all activities in performance management including coaching and mentoring all levels of leadership to maximize employee development, performance management and coaching improvement plans.

· Lead and implement prevention strategies in health and safety including joint health and safety committee activities, disability management, incident investigations and corrective actions and trend analysis.

· Establish and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders in effort to facilitate a work environment of mutual support of the overall team responding quickly and effectively to resolve issues.

· Execute plans and activities within budget and timelines while reflecting company values

· Lead and support AY McDonald Industries Human Resources initiatives as it relates to Canadian operations.

· Provide monthly reporting to maximize company-wide communication

· Perform other projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

· College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or a related field.

· 7-10 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.

· CHRL designation or working towards.

· In depth knowledge in labour relations including collective agreement administration, collective bargaining and related processes.

· Broad functional experience in recruitment, training, policy & procedure development, health and safety, payroll, pension and benefits administration.

· Ability to establish credible relationships throughout the organization who sets an example of a strong leader that earns respect through actions

· Can demonstrate an understanding of business objectives by implementing and maintaining key human resources initiatives.

· Strong leadership and relationship development skills are essential.

· An open and transparent communicator with the ability to influence all stakeholders.

· Excellent inclusion, collaboration and teambuilding skills with the ability to bring groups of people together to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

· High ethical standards of honesty, confidentiality, strong written and verbal skills and timely reporting.

· Excellent computer skills (Mainframe Systems, Microsoft Office etc.).
