to maintain the website that lists the studies, and ensuring that each of the studies listed on the site have all requisite approvals (i.e., legal, ethics, Health Canada, etc.). From time to time you will lead the update of documents and data capture tools, and closely track the number of participants successfully enrolled. In addition, you will also be a key member of the TDRA’s Coordinating Centre, supporting the review of documents, preparation of regular reports, and working closely with other team members to support shared deliverables. The Research Coordinator will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourage teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Masters’ degree in Science in addition to two (2) years of relevant experience working in a research environment, as well as experience recruiting research participants. Interacting with individuals and family members with dementia is an asset. Previous experience working or volunteering in a health services or academic setting would be an asset.
Experience with RedCAP would also be an asset, as would be previous experience tracking projects/project management experience. Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Internet Search engines is required. The successful candidate should have the ability to explain complex issues in plain language both verbally and in writing to both research and a non-research audiences. Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with multiple stakeholders in the field of dementia and to mobilize diverse stakeholder groups towards dementia clinical research recruitment. An understanding of the Canadian clinical research healthcare system and public health environment, including the interrelationship between patient advocacy organizations, research institutions, healthcare practitioners and governments towards the support of research in dementia. The ability to manage and adapt to diverse work environments and conditions is essential. Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
