General Summary

In partnership with the Retail Sales Leadership team and Director of Finance to define and action critical business plans with key responsibilities including managing customer profitability, providing business advice and financial counsel, maintaining the integrity of financial results through policies and procedures, and creating best in class planning and reporting processes/tools.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Business Analysis & Support

• Collaborate with Sales and Finance Leadership teams to plan and execute customer strategies
• Develop insights from analytical work, evaluate investment options, and advise on the financial viability of customer opportunities and negotiations
• Support implementation of pricing and revenue management activities
• Support the Corporate and Sales Annual Operating Plans (AOP) through process improvement, reporting, and trade management planning

Trade Governance Leadership & Oversight

• Accountable for maintaining a strong controls environment to comply with Campbell’s accounting & trade policies, provide counsel to Sales on trade policies and practices
• Responsible for maintaining accurate trade reserves and communicating accrual analyses to an executive audience through corporate Balance Sheet Reviews (BSR)
• Deliver trade compliance and forecast accuracy through monthly trade spend reviews
• Design trade reporting tools to support Sales and Sales Finance teams
• Support Corporate Audit/Corporate Controller requests

Business Management: Forecasting & Reporting

• Lead Sales team financial reporting, including analysis and communication of profitability results versus targets and comparative scenarios
• Participate in Canada and Sales Management Business Reviews (MBR) providing business counsel on trade management and customer insights
• Review and monitor month-end close process for adherence to timelines and accounting/ Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) principles regarding revenue and expense recognition
• Lead preparation of customer interim forecasts

Process Improvement

• Lead implementation of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) practices within Sales Finance
• Create and automate standardized financial reporting across customer teams
• Reduce process duplication and streamline workflows within Sales/Sales Finance

Finance Team Development

• Provide leadership and development opportunities to the Sales Finance team
• Create strategies and objectives to meet team & organizational goals
• Identify and support training opportunities cross functionally

Minimum Requirements

• Post secondary degree, or MBA preferred
• 7-10 years, ideal candidate has Consumer Goods Packaging (CPG)/Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) experience
• 3+ years people management
• Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) preferred
