We are looking for a Financial Analyst
Role description
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Reporting & Analytics, you will be a member of a team operating in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements for PMAC. This includes supporting the preparation of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for senior leaders.
What you will do:
Budgeting – Assist with preparation of annual revenue and expense budgets for PMAC including the review of historical data, determining the activities for the year, and forecasting the resources required. Ongoing variance analysis and reporting for PMAC leadership and GC Finance to explain or highlight variances from plan.
Forecasting– Assist in five-year forecasting
Revenue Reporting – Prepare and analyze monthly reporting for executive management on all PMAC’s revenue drivers, specifically on new sales and researching over/under variances. Respond to ad hoc requests within strict deadlines with complete and accurate responses. May require development of new and innovative analysis and reporting.
Expense Variance Analysis – Prepare monthly expense variance analysis for senior leaders of PMAC’s 15 cost centres. Responsible for investigating and providing analysis on key drivers, auditing computer charges and accruing monthly amounts due to late invoicing.
Financial reporting – Prepare and analyze individual product line income statements as well as quarterly consolidated income statement. Maintains several databases used to create timely and accurate reporting.
Assist in reporting KPIs (key performance indicators)
Participate in special/ad hoc projects as required
Teamwork – Gain and provide support from/to a wide-variety of stakeholders. Your ability to “lead at all levels” and work cohesively with multiple stakeholders with multiple agendas will be your strongest attribute.
Problem Solving – Identify and resolve issues as they arise
Process Improvement – Continuously look for new and more efficient ways of doing things
What you will bring:
CPA or in final stages of completion
Strong mathematical aptitude
5-7 years of accounting experience
Adaptable and able to thrive in an environment of change
Self-starter, self-motivated
Organized (if your recipes are filed using the dewy decimal system, we think that’s a good sign)
Proficient in MS Office with Expert level skills in Excel
Power BI skills desirable
SAP and Access database experience an asset
Experience in Group Customer / Insurance industry an asset
Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
