Canadian Energy Looking for Accounts Receivable Clerk at Calgary, Alberta, Canada Full Time

As part of our Accounting team, a typical week might include the following:

• A/R collection and reporting for assigned SOLV4EX entities.
• Reviewing customer credit requests and setting up credit terms in system.
• Working with company branches to resolve any credit issues.
• Monitoring and responding to corporate AR emails.
• Working with branches across Canada to ensure timely collection of amounts outstanding and assisting with collections as required.
• Mentoring new branch employees on proper processes and procedures.
• Preparing and documenting tax exemptions.
• Posting customer’s payments.
• Processing monthly payments to customer for batteries returned for recycling.
• Processing payments on Moneris credit card system.
• Continuously look for ways to improve work process.
• Analyzing cash collection, finding solutions to cash collection discrepancies.
• Investigating and resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied payment transactions.
• Reviewing all credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and applying adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records.
• Ensuring the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.
• Actively looking for opportunities to convert manual collections to electronic.

Requirements:

• Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration OR 5 years of experience in a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Ability to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations.
• Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills in order to handle late payments and delinquent accounts.
• Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
• Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Fluent in English (both spoken and written)
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
