The position is a temporary full-time contract position of 37.5 hours per week and will be based out of the 601-7700 Hurontario St, Brampton office. The contract is set to end June 2023. Remote work is available during the current COVID-19 environment. There will be a requirement to go on site as needed.
Current Salary band is $46,864-$54,439 per year

Key Responsibilities:
Service Responsibilities
Support HR team with full cycle recruitment –manage and track recruitment requisitions, post jobs on social media and web boards, review resumes and match applicants skills with job requirements, schedule and book interviews with hiring managers, screen candidates, prepare interview guides, follow up with candidates about interviews, conduct references
Prepare, maintain and update personnel files, including new hire files, managing confidential information as required
Update Job Descriptions as per direction of HR Manager
Coordinate the CMHA Peel Dufferin New Hire Orientation program for new staff by communicating with all concerned parties (staff & managers); manage logistics for the orientation
Add new employees, update and maintain employees’ information in payroll system & HRIS
Add new employees to the benefits system and make changes to employee status as needed
Ensure that new hire orientation checklists probation documents are completed by Program Managers
Organize logistics and activities for employee training and development days as required; Update and maintain training logs for all staff; ensure staff are registered through the organizational website and follow up on training reports
Verify employee qualifications by following up with professional colleges and associations on an annual basis
Provide administrative support to HR manager in various projects
File annual summer job applications to the Canada Student Grant and support Program Managers in recruitment; ensure appropriate documentation after hire is maintained
Process staff claims regarding professional development, wellness and car insurance
Support HR Manager with policy system administration
Maintain and update the HR department’s database ensuring that the policies and processes, employee lists, and confidential company data is managed securely
Other Activities
Support employees and management and communicate with them on any organizational policies and procedures, as directed by the HR manager
Liaise with benefit carriers as required
Maintain the HR department in a well-coordinated and professional manner.
Serve as a role model to others by demonstrating a respectful and positive attitude towards individuals receiving support from CMHA Peel Dufferin representing the organization professionally
Promote and demonstrate the Vision, Mission and Values of the organization within the workplace and the broader community
Demonstrate a respectful and professional attitude and ensure the development and/or maintenance of a positive and supportive working relationship between departments/teams within CMHA Peel Dufferin and with external organizations, business and the broader community
Work within the health and safety guidelines provided by the agency, which includes annual mandatory training requirements
Other Duties as Assigned
Coordinate, attend, participate in team/staff meetings, and all-staff meetings as required
Participate in agency quality improvement activities, e.g. accreditation projects, Information Systems Support and Privacy and Security committees, special events, etc.
Participate in quality improvement activities at the team/program level
Participate in external committees as required
Undertake other duties as assigned from time to time
Participate in direct, regular, formal supervision and work to have client representation in program operations and input into related policies
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
College Diploma or University Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field required
Current membership with the Human Resources Professionals Association, preferred
Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ recent relevant experience supporting a Human Resources department
JHSC certification is an asset
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and take initiative when needed
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary shared-care environment
Experience maintaining employee records
Some Knowledge of the Ontario Employments Standards Act, Human Rights Legislation and Occupational Health & Safety Act
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Team player with excellent interpersonal, time management and organization skills required
Demonstrated accountability with a strong work ethic is required. Must be self-directed with the ability to exercise independent discretion; strong awareness of confidentiality is required
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive client-oriented attitude
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with management and front-line staff
Strong computer skills – MS Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook, databases
Ability to multi-task and problem solve in an occasionally stressful environment
Demonstrated leadership in organizational committees, projects and other work groups
Able to manage system ambiguity in a professional manner
Initiative and ability to work independently
Ability to work well in a fast paced; constantly shifting and changing healthcare landscape
Requirements of the Position:
Valid driver’s license
Automobile in good repair and insurance coverage as required by agency policy
Satisfactory police records search and vulnerable sector screening
Satisfactory references
