The Learning and Development Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing company-wide training solutions linked to CN’s policies and programs as well as providing leadership and professional development solutions.

The role has standard working conditions in a flexible remote and office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines. The role requires minimal travel (5%) within Canada and the United States.

The Learning and Development Advisor is responsible for making recommendations on course content. The role has impacts on leadership and leaders’ technical abilities in completing the course under the incumbent’s responsibility. The position is accountable for supporting talent development by building appropriate developmental actions.
Level of Interaction/Influence
The Learning and Development Advisor interacts with individuals internal and external to CN. Within the organization, the incumbent liaises with SME from various functions such as individual contributors, First Line Supervisors, Middle Managers, Directors and Vice-Presidents, Human Resources Business Partners, Campus Instructors, and Human Resource Information System team members. Outside of CN, the role communicates with various firms and developers.
Employees Supervised/Organizational Structure
The Learning and Development Advisor reports to the Manager of Learning and Development and has no supervisory responsibility.
