PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Our mission is to collaborate with the business units to drive value through enabling new transformation capabilities. As the Business Transformation Partner, you will act as a strategic thinking partner to a key area of our railway business – aligning technology, process optimization priorities with CP strategic goals. Working with senior leaders within CP’s finance organization, the successful candidate will facilitate process understanding and improvement while helping develop digital transformation roadmaps and strategies.
The Business Partner Transformation – Record-to-Report will focus on enabling and transforming the business processes that encompass the Finance & Accounting functions, from information collection through provision of accurate & actionable insights.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develop an integrated business architecture through process flow mapping, key measures, and process optimization opportunities;
Realize process improvements through simplification, standardization, and automation processes/solutions;
Work with senior business leaders and Enterprise/Solution Architects to identify, elaborate and plan future transformation programs and initiatives. Fit these plans into our corporate transformation roadmap;
Lead innovation and manage change to ensure that strategic programs, solution enhancements realize their value;
Build and maintain partnerships within the business, earn trust, build credibility and thereby forming strong relationships with the business stakeholders;
Lead discussions across the organization to optimize/influence decision making, and drive value;
Demonstrate CP’s leadership competencies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field required;
5-10 years of experience in Business Transformation;
10+ years of experience in SAP financial (SAP ECC, S4/HANA) finance solutions & processes;
Effective relationship building;
Previous experience developing strategic plans and roadmaps;
High business IQ and ability to articulate the value of different strategies & programs;
Experience using Design Thinking methodologies to generate innovation is an asset;
Functional/technical proficiency with full lifecycle delivery of record-to-report; transformation projects;
Subject-matter expertise in one, or more, of GL posting, data extraction, collection, validation, transformation, & financial performance indicators;
Highly analytical with experience in process mapping and business analysis;
Applied understanding of data science and statistical methods;
Experience and ability to work with Senior Leadership levels in the organization;
Highly effective communicator, confident, passionate, clear, respectfully assertive and inspiring;
Displays emotional intelligence; demonstrates self-awareness and remains calm under pressure; expresses confidences in ability to succeed; keeps an optimistic attitude even when things are not going well.
