What you’ll do
The Customs Compliance Auditor exists to ensure CTC’s compliance to all regulations and legislation of Customs Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the importation of product. The Auditor is responsible for the overall Customs operational and regulatory compliance to assure that Canadian Tire maintains trusted trader status.
Review and analyze complex products to ensure that correct and most advantageous HS classification has been achieved.
Compile and complete appropriate case investigation and response for anti-dumping and countervailing compliance.
Consult with Marketing and Buying Teams to provide Customs expertise on current and proposed products to be sourced. I.e.: duty rates, tariff treatments, PGA requirements.
Review and audit Customs Brokerage systems and processes to ensure all requirements are met.
Analyze and compile business cases to support maximum duty reductions. Some cases may require support in submission through an appeal process up to CITT.
Provides oversight and input into the appropriate import declaration and regulatory governance of Participating Government Agencies.
Provide customs expertise to various levels of the corporation.
Compilation of data and information for audits conducted by CBSA.
Work with internal and external auditors or consultants to ensure Customs regulatory compliance.
Initiate, develop and implement internal Customs audit processes and reporting.
Work with cross functional projects as a Customs subject matter expert when required.
Manage time and prioritize workload.
What you bring
5-7 years practical experience in completing internal and external audits and anti-dumping and countervailing investigations.
Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) designation.
In-depth knowledge /experience with U.S and Canadian Customs.
Knowledge / experience with Customs rulings and Customs Self-Assessment (CSA).
Exceptional organizational, analytical and communication skills.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Comfortable working toward multiple deadlines at the same time.
