Join the Canalyst Data Governance Team as a Financial Associate. Successful candidates will have a strong interest in capital markets and a background in finance, accounting, or business.
Location: While we’d strongly prefer this position to be in Vancouver, we’re open to candidates working remotely!
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Manage multiple projects which includes searching for, analyzing and collecting company reported data from different filings and company reports (ex. SEC filings (K/Q’s, PRs), Supplemental Reports, etc.)
Lead initiatives to apply labels and annotations to financial data based on your specific research and understanding of accounting and/or finance principles
Lead projects in which you will conduct industry/sector research and create multi-company datasets and reporting documents
Identify financial modeling inconsistencies across the database and implementing processes to correct them
Support projects that includes working with Engineering and Equity Research teams
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business with an interest in capital markets and financial modeling
Good understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
Strong communication skills and highly team-oriented
Strong work ethic and integrity
Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to deliver under pressure and work to tight deadlines
Ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Experience working with SQL, PowerQuery and/or Python an asset
Completion or progress towards a CPA, CFA or similar designation is an asset
