Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to support multiple accounting projects within their privately held international multi-state cannabis manufacturing and logistics organization.
This position is responsible for general accounting duties including journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation of financial statements for multiple entities, assisting with ERP implementation and other related tasks. The position requires solid understanding of IFRS, GAAP, an ability to review and analyze information, and develop an understanding of the business and the financial reporting for the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Provide financial support to the business through teamwork with analysts to provide meaningful information and reporting of the business, including variance analysis
- Seek opportunities to streamline and improve accounting transactions and work with the business to provide accounting and analytical support to meet internal customer needs
- Work directly with operational and site teams on special projects and initiatives related to accounting and reporting
- Contribute to implementation of additional accounting modules and add on/new financials systems (automation/ERP)
- Support the preparation of complete monthly and annual financial statements for multiple entities
- Support annual group audit and statutory audits of multiple entities
- Contribute to the monthly general ledger close and reporting process
- Lead special projects as assigned
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience
- Advanced understanding and application of IFRS and US GAAP
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; with responsive feedback at all times
- Microsoft Excel skills to include VLOOKUP, pivot table, external linking, and respect for proper database management and accuracy to ensure data quality and integrity
- Strong PC skills including working knowledge of Excel and Accounting ERP software bility to make decisions, appear for work on time, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism
- Be able to deliver under pressure and meet established deadlines
- Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner and demonstrate sound judgement
- Organization, attention to detail and the ability to analyze data
- Cannabis accounting experience a plus
Required Education And Experience
- Minimum undergraduate degree in accounting
- CPA or CPA Candidate is preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years combined public accounting and general accounting experience.
- CPG and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.
Compensation: $110,000 CAD plus great benefits
