SUMMARY
Reporting to the General Manager, the Shipper Receiver is responsible for ensuring trucks are loaded accurately and efficiently to meet customer orders, receive inventory from the production site and ensuring accurate inventory counts.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Prepares shipping documents and arranges shipments based on ship date and requirements from sales order to ensure customer expectations are met.
Performs all the transactions related to receiving or shipping product and make sure details are accurately entered in the database.
Processes and tallies inbound products.
Ensures accuracy of all tallies and all loads.
Coordinates load schedule with customers and trucking companies.
Conducts spot inventory counts as required
Calculates freight rates for shipments.
Liaise with customers and trucking companies.
Adheres to customer service commitments.
Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving practices
Previous experience with inventory management practices
Logistics experience an asset
Basic computer skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (candidates will be assessed on Excel skills)
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of all documentation
Must have own steel-toed boots.
Basic math skills (candidates will be assessed on skills)
Minimum two years’ experience in Shipping and Receiving
HOURS OF WORK
Typically, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Must be flexible during peak periods of operation and holiday/illness coverage.
EDUCATION: High school graduation
WORK LOCATION
4201 Echo Field Rd, Cranbrook, BC V1C 7B6
Must have own reliable transportation as public transportation may not be an option to the work site.
