We are seeking a highly motivated student to join our team as a Live Music Performance School Operations Management Intern. This intern will play a critical role in helping our company, which specializes in business optimization, and preferably has some prior performance-based experience in singing, songwriting, performing as a band and/or dance.

The intern will work remotely with our team (up to 10 to 20 hours a week) to identify areas for improvement and develop/implement strategies to enhance the overall performance of the company.

Responsibilities include market research, customer service analysis, and program evaluation. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in the performing arts, business management and education to gain hands-on experience and make a positive impact on our company (Canyon Entertainment Group).

This is a 3 to 6 month internship for those attending College or University. It is also applicable for those seeking internship credit for College or University. We will take your core skills and experience and build some amazing results, together!

TRAINING INTERNSHIP in Operations Management for a Live Music Performance School

General Purpose: Preparation of materials and completion of specific projects, while ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. The intern will learn best practices in operations management, marketing/communications and general project management from experienced staff.

Responsibilities and tasks may include:

  • Setting up new programs, communication strategies and student/parent onboarding
  • Outreach to prospective partners, clients, staff, educational institutions, government, etc.
  • Working with lead generation software
  • Coordinating promotion, social media, press and marketing
  • Understanding all relevant guidelines and industry requirements
  • Planning activities, working with suppliers, organizing deliverables and coordinating with team members
  • Writing, editing, and sending out communications, project tracking sheets, etc.
  • Keeping all constituents informed and up-to-date on all activities
  • Conducting research and/or reviewing materials to understand various tools, systems and processes
  • Developing Standard Operating Procedures based on current and new methodologies
  • Database updates
  • Conduct pre- and post evaluations and report on outcomes
  • Research market, identify opportunities and generate interest

REQUIREMENTS

Candidate should possess:

  • Currently enrolled in College or University (Bachelor or Master’s program) in the fields of operations, project/product management, marketing, English, business administration, fine arts, performing arts, education or any related fields.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Self driven and resilient.
  • Passion for the performing arts and education.
  • Ability to commit to a part-time, remote, paid internship up to a maximum of 240 hours over 6 months.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic database knowledge
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

This is an internship which is funded by the Canadian government for 3 to 6 months for a maximum of 240 hours. Therefore, please REVIEW THE FOLLOWING to determine if you meet the following criteria for this government grant.

What is the eligibility criteria for students? To be eligible, you must fit ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

1. Registered as a student in a Canadian postsecondary institution, with no age limit; and

2. Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and,

3. Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and,

4. NOT an international student on a work permit, co-op permit, or student visa.

*Please note that students on temporary work permits, and international students are NOT ELIGIBLE for the Level UP program. Eligibility criteria is set as part of the funding agreement with the Government of Canada.
