Manager, Process Management (Data Management Team)

As a Manager in the Canada Data Management team, you will work with extended teams across the enterprise to manage and improve our Data Management controls and processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your process and risk management expertise with your desire to develop knowledge and skills in data-driven technologies at Capital One.

The responsibilities include:
Develop and implement controls and processes to govern Canada’s compliance to the Enterprise Data Risk Management (EDRM) policies and standards, Data Ethics & Privacy Office (DEPO) and Cyber Event Technology Program (CETP) requirements, and appropriate regulatory requirements that relate to data management

Manage the process flow for Maintain Data and Develop & Manage models L2 processes, including process measurement, analysis, and responding to breakdowns as needed

Manage EDRM Findings issued to Canada, and oversee remediation required to close findings

Manage RCSA assessments across the Data team

Manage control design & operating effectiveness assessments, and control testing plans

Manage risk issues, events and controls that relate to Data Management processes

Collaborate with various departments (such as our software studio, Card Data Management team EDRM, DEPO, Compliance, Legal, BRO) to develop and implement effective processes and controls

Apply leadership skills, including communication and change management, to help drive successful implementation and adoption of controls, processes and standards

People leadership of a small team of associates

Maintain knowledge of Data Management policies and procedures and ensure documentation is relevant and up-to-date

Manage Business Continuity Planning for applicable processes

Basic Qualifications:
Manager with at least 2 years experience at Capital One

At least 5 years of experience working in process, risk or data roles

At least 3 years experience working in a cross-functional environment, ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed effectively

Preferred Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience designing, managing, and improving processes

Familiarity with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools & methodology

Familiarity with Capital One data environment and/or basic SQL knowledge would be an advantage
