Job Summary

The Food Service Worker I in Food & Support Services is responsible for preparing, assembling, and serving meals to patients/residents/customers. This may include distributing and collecting meal trays from floors, preparing vegetables, snacks, or other nourishments, ensuring kitchenettes and food stations are clean, sanitized, and stocked, performing cashier duties if applicable and other related duties as required.

Constantly lifts food, supplies and products up to 10 lbs. and occasional lifts/pushes/pulls food products and supplies between 20-50 lbs. requiring assistance from others.

Regularly requires repetitive neck flexion, reaching, bilateral handling, body movements including bending, kneeling, and stretching.

Constantly requires standing and walking.

Constantly requires visual and auditory concentration, and repetitive tasks, higher than normal levels of attentiveness and alertness for the health and safety of others.

Job Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation would be an asset.

Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively.

Demonstrated strong customer service skills.

A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
