A Material Handler is responsible for staging, transporting, documentation and dumping all packaged dry ingredients into the chocolate paste batching systems.
Pay Rate: $22.50 per hour with a $0.50 shift premium for afternoon shift
Shift: Night Shift
Principal Accountabilities:
Follow all Food Safety (HACCP), GMP’s, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental programs
Manually lift and dump ingredients (bags and/or blocks) into specified hoppers (up to 55 lbs)
Measure ingredients and document amounts and lot #’s according to formulas
Maintain raw material inventory logs and reconcile daily
Empty garbage bins used in Batching department
Contact Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2 personnel in the event of any problems with the equipment
Clean work areas and equipment as assigned or scheduled
Must obtain a forklift license (internal training provided), and use pallet handling equipment to move product or ingredient materials as required
Maintain all production areas in a neat and clean condition
Properly account for any ingredient spills or scrap
Perform other duties as assigned by the Batching Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2
Requirements:
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Must be 18 years or older
High school diploma or GED; and one to three months’ related experience and/or training is required. Must be able to read, write and perform basic math.
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Mathematical skills
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple step instructions. Ability to remember and prioritize multiple job tasks. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
