Duties And Responsibilities
The Cataloguing and Access Services Coordinator reports to the Supervisor, Audio-Visual Resource Centre. The incumbent works in close collaboration with Audio-Visual Resource Centre’s (AVRC) colleagues in the development of procedures and workflows for accessioning, describing, managing, processing, organizing, preserving, and providing access to a variety of analogue, born-digital and digitized materials, as well as a growing collection of artifacts. The incumbent also assists in the integration of technologies for capturing, preserving, promoting and providing access to the AVRC’s collections.
The Cataloguing and Access Services Coordinator catalogues and processes various materials across multiple formats and is responsible for the circulation of the AVRC’s collections. The incumbent coordinates weekly SSAC (School for Studies in Art and Culture) film and video bookings and course reserves in various media.
The Cataloguing and Access Services Coordinator staffs the Reception/Circulation desk, provides reference assistance, user orientation and instruction, supervision of the AVRC’s collections, and support for special events. The incumbent develops engaging on-line content about the AVRC and its collections. The incumbent is also required to assists in the establishment and re-organizing of sections of the AVRC’s physical collections as deemed necessary and performs miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
The Reception/Circulation desk must be staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday during the fall and winter terms.
