Duties And Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Online Technology the Educational Technology Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, advising, and consulting with faculty members, contract instructors, staff, and teaching assistants on the use of a large and evolving number of educational technologies in teaching and learning activities at Carleton. The position will support instructors and staff migrating courses between and within the LMS.
The incumbent will also evaluate and look critically at new technologies, teaching practices, and research to ensure that TLS is providing the best possible teaching and learning tools and approaches to faculty members and students in a way that is informed by educational research and established best practices in the fields of instructional design and educational technology.
The Educational Technology Development Coordinator will plan, develop, and facilitate one-on-one training and group workshops, as well as design and deliver online tutorials (synchronous and asynchronous) relating to the use of any form of technology used to enhance teaching and learning. The Educational Technology Development Coordinator is responsible for efficiently managing multiple projects related to educational technology at Carleton. These can include new initiatives, instructor projects, or continuing management of long-term projects.
This position uses instructional design strategies and learning theories to design e-learning activities using the Learning Management System (LMS) and a large variety of tools. This is an important position within the Teaching and Learning Services as it is responsible for implementing, supporting, and administrating courses within Carleton’s Learning Management System (LMS) and other Digital Learning tools.
