WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The Educational Designer is passionate about the design and development of digital and hands-on educational resources. Reporting to the Director of Education, they are a collaborator by nature and have a high attention to detail. This individual is someone who has strong communication skills (written and verbal) and will be confident when speaking to large groups of teachers both virtually and in person.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As Educational Designer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing digital and hands-on educational resources for new, existing, and prospective customers;

• Aiding with the design and development of new educational features for the game and platform;

• Working with school districts as a Zorbit’s Math partner;

• Delivering product orientation, classroom implementation PD sessions and webinars for teachers and school administrators;

• Staying current with educational research and strategies for bringing pedagogical ideas into practical application in the classroom;

• Auditing and refining our resources’ curriculum coverage;

• Writing customer-facing resources like blog articles, support FAQs, lesson plans, etc;

• Working with sales and customer success to create enablement tools like slide decks, fact sheets, PD videos, etc.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION?

• Minimum of 3 years experience in the classroom teaching math (or other relevant STEAM-focused topics).

• Experience with educational technology is an asset.

• Experience with Google docs, sheets, and slides.

• Knowledge of foundational math pedagogy (ie NCTM’s 5 strands of proficiency, continua of numeracy development).

• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

• Strong organizational skills.

LOCATION

Although we are headquartered in St. John’s, NL, this position can be located anywhere in Canada, with the opportunity to work remotely.
