We are a leading contractor in the communications line construction industry, providing services for a variety of clients. We are currently accepting resumes for Safety Coordinator position. Duties and Responsibilities
· Oversee and implement training, including course design.
· Provide technical OH&S expertise to staff and management.
· Promote, educate and communicate best practices for health, safety, security and environmental areas.
· Complete safety audits to maintain company letters of good standing as required. Must be familiar with Certificate of Recognition program.
· Conduct routine workplace inspections and verify safe work conditions. Recognition and communication of at-risk behaviors.
· Apply company and client policies, procedures and practices.
· Incident investigation and recommend course of action to reduce risk of re-occurrence.
· Develop, implement and execute EHS programs that inspire a world class safety culture, maximizing and continuously improving within operational sites.
· Review site safety inspection reports and job hazard assessment forms for completion and verification of action taken on areas requiring corrective action.
· Ensure compliance with client Health and Safety pre-qualification accounts (SIM Cognibox, ISNetworld, and Complyworks).
· New hire safety orientation.

Qualifications and Experience
· Post-secondary degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline considered an asset.
· COR Certified is an asset
· Demonstrated knowledge base of provincial OH&S legislation and regulations, risk management programs, hazard assessment and industry best practices.
· Investigation Training would be considered an asset.
· Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
· Ability to facilitate training and conduct effective presentations.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
· Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies or directives related to employment.
· Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
· Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high quality work.
