Daily
Send morning update to RTM with info regarding sick calls, vacations, truck breakdowns, etc
Field all communication from customers via phone, fax, email
Communicate with drivers via radio and dispatch same day requests
Create jobs in AMCS
Run standing jobs (permanently routed calls)
Build routes (create boxes)
Complete jobs (this includes entering dump tickets for 3rd party facilities and ensuring proper billing of all hauls)
Email back up paperwork for RDFFG loads (they require proof of pickup request and copy of scale ticket)
Pushed calls report
Monitor route efficiency and OT so work is distributed accordingly
Manage incoming communication from drivers of site issues, overloaded bins, etc.
Complete daily LOB summary (total kms, jobs, routes, hours)
Send EOD email with summary of the day
Assist TS with H&S data entry (record hours for H&S Training, TBT’s ect)
Monthly
Ensure all jobs are completed and tickets are entered for the month
Send any accounts that we want to hold billing on to accounting
Make any corrections identified by AM’s or accounting
Manage any reconciliation issues identified by Pay Specialists. If they are trying to reconcile bills from the landfills, they will reach out for any discrepancies.
Support any other month end processes related to Transportation
Experiences and strengths
Minimum Education – High School
Minimum 1 year of experience in Dispatching
Strong team spirit
A desire to share your knowledge with colleagues
Advanced knowledge of transport and dispatching operations
Ability to make efficient and appropriate decisions
Versatility and agility needed to manage more than one file simultaneously
