This position will coordinate, in the most cost effective and efficient manner, the daily activities of our internal fleet of vehicles as well as direct the activities of outbound deliveries. The Dispatcher will work collectively with the Transportation Manager to facilitate and ensure our highest level of service to all of our customers.

Individual responsibilities
Will be required to dispatch drivers to specific vehicles and routes as required on a daily basis.
Will be required to receive daily phone calls from customers and input their service requirements into the AMCS program.
Will be required to receive and dispatch all daily incoming customer service requests in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Will be required to modify customer route priorities as necessary due to vehicle breakdowns, adverse weather conditions, absent drivers, etc. while maintaining efficiency.
Will be required to maintain knowledge of customers and their concerns.
Will be required to work closely with the Manager of Business Development to ensure our customer service obligations and their concerns are met.
Will be required to follow up on queries from customers, drivers and associates in a timely fashion.
Will be required to co-ordinate loading/unloading of trucks with the receiving lead hand.
Will be required to track the location of all transportation equipment including, but not limited to, trucks, trailers, and roll off containers.
Will be required to accurately complete all transportation associated paperwork including producing the following days work orders and organizing them for each unit.
Will be required to work closely with the Transportation Supervisor in order to resolve the day to day issues as well as improve the overall efficiencies of the department
Experiences and strengths
Previous relevant experience is an asset
High School level or better math skills.
Ability to communicate professionally over the phone and radio.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with others as well as independently.
Dependable attendance.
Positive “Team” attitude.
Preferable experience with TRUX software.
Strong organizational skills.
Self–motivated problem solver.
At least 3 years experience with computers. Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel as well as an aptitude for custom programming.
