Casino New Brunswick Looking for Food and Beverage Host/Hostess at Moncton, NB Full Time

Position Summary:

The Beverage Host/Hostess is responsible maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of all sections of the Floor (gambling area) and related guest services through effective time management, overall professionalism and poise. In addition, this role must meet and exceed the Beverage Hostess Job Standard for Casino Complex. The Beverage Hostess is responsible for providing gracious level of service to guests to support guest satisfaction. The Beverage Hostess is also responsible for contributing to an environment within the Floor & Bar, which encourages fellow co-workers to be happy, motivated and proud of the products and services provided by the restaurant, resulting in a joyful, memorable, relaxed and casual event for the guest.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable.
• Develops and maintains a Service Culture that ensures the delivery of Superior internal/external guest service by all team members.
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
• Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
• Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter. Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy
• Help to maintain clean service areas.
• Be knowledgeable with the current food and beverage programs, incentives and customer concerns by regularly liaising with the Director of Food & Beverage and Supervisors.
• Answer general questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services in the premise.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Director of Food & Beverage or Supervisor. .
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
• Ensure all NBLGC, casino and other provincial mandated laws, policies and procedures are stringently adhered to at all times
• Check weekly schedule, as you are responsible for your weekly shift.
• Ensure attendance at daily pre-shift meetings
• Attend meetings and training programs when required
• Maintain the highest standard of professionalism when interacting with guests and coworkers.
• Maintain effective communication within the restaurant & bar with the Director of Food & Beverage, Supervisors and coworkers.
• Work collaboratively with the FOH Supervisors or Dual FOH Supervisor to ensure consistency and standardization of department requirements
• Communicate with the Director of Food & Beverage and supervisor about challenges that you experience and collaborate with them in creating solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualification Requirements:

• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to successfully complete Responsible Beverage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and gaming laws
• Respond to visual and aural cues
• Ability to professionally handle situations that may arise due to intoxicated guests
• Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
• Professional attitude required
• Ability to follow instructions & work independently is required
• Good organizational and time management skills is required
• Previous customer service experience required
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) knowledge is an asset
• Criminal Record Check is required
• Server or Beverage Hostess experience required
• Experience in a Beverage Host/Hostess capacity working in a fast paced environment
• Bilingualism (French/English) is necessary

Work Environment Conditions:

• Handle repetitive physical motions for long periods of time
• Must be able to work standing for 8-hour shifts, and overtime as required.

Licensing and Certification Requirements: Permanent employment may be dependent upon the authorization and continued approval of the Provincial/State Regulatory Bodies. New employees may be required to complete an application and, if required, will begin work only after regulatory approval is granted. Existing team members will reapply as necessary, and continuing work will be dependent upon successful reapplication. For positions that require additional certification, the appropriate level of certification will be maintained.
