Responsibilities:
- Intakes claims report via email, phone, and fax;
- Reviews initial claims report to determine type of claim, insurer, and filing process according to insurer requirements;
- Negotiates losses with insurance for settlement;
- Works interactively with insurance adjusters;
- Discusses claims with customers;
- Collaborates with the Accounting Department;
- Follows up with settlement cheques;
- Prepares applicable paperwork relating to claim;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be bilingual in French and English – both verbal and written
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to plan, organize and multi-task
- Understanding of leasing/financing
- 1+ years customer service experience
- 1+ years working in leasing/ financing
- Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems
- Able to work independently
- Critical thinking
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Able to deal with confrontation in a professional manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
- College or university degree preferred
- Experience working in insurance claims is an asset
