As an Associate Digital Project Manager at Cengage Canada, you will participate in the planning, content management, production, and deployment of a variety of digital products and assets, providing overall workflow/scheduling expertise and cost-effective solutions with the goal of ensuring all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Cengage Canada’s quality standards. To excel in this role, you should possess hands-on project management skills, pay high attention to detail, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. An open approach to discovering and learning new digital and technical skills is crucial. You will collaborate with both technical and non-technical staff, subject matter experts (SMEs), and vendors. Identifying and implementing process improvements within the production workflow is key. Furthermore, the ability to work well under pressure, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-changing environment is fundamental to your success!
What you’ll do here:
Pre-Production
Create project schedules that resolve workflow and timelines for a digital product
Develop a project scope template to gather and create project-specific documentation
Establish and consistently update internal systems (IPS, JIRA, etc.) with critical project information to ensure data integrity
Work with and guide team members to finalize project scope and requirements, ensuring both keep the project on time and on budget
Content Management
Work with collaborators to gather content requirements for digital projects
Prepare and provide documentation and guidance to subject matter experts SMEs
Manage project-specific digital content scheduling and workflows, including SME timelines
Review content and assessment to ensure it meets the needs of instructional design and the digital platform
Production
Coordinate the creation of digital assets between SMEs and vendors (examples: quizzing, html inter-activities, video, audio, etc.)
Facilitate product assembly by creating build documents for vendors and preparing content and files to meet internal digital project requirements
Liaise with external suppliers and internal partners to review project milestones, update scheduling, and address confirm asset needs or issues
Problem solve and troubleshoot throughout the production phase
Maintain internal systems at each project milestone during the digital project build
Post-Production/Post-Deployment
Archive project assets
Process project invoices
Liaise with team members to update project status
Help resolve customer issues with existing products
Skills you will need here:
Post-secondary degree or diploma
2-4 years experience working in a digital development & production environment
Solid knowledge/understanding of the editorial product development model for digital and print is an asset
Highly organized and motivated, with good problem-solving skills
Superior time management skills, the flexibility to shift between tasks easily, and the demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize workload
Excellent communication skills, to effectively convey ideas, instructions, and feedback to team members.
Active listening skills with the ability to foster open and clear communication channels.
Should embrace, support, and practice a collaborative style
Solid understanding of quality assurance principals
Experience managing third-party vendors
Proficiency in MS Office, Smartsheet, and SharePoint an asset
Familiarity of HTML5, CSS, Jira and JavaScript an asset
Experience with various media formats (video, audio) an asset

Base Pay Range
The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
$47,500.00 – $75,900.00 CAD
