Position: Senior Accountant (Full-time, Permanent | Remote)
Preferred Education and Experience: Qualified CPA or finalist with at least 5 years as a bookkeeper or equivalent combination of education and experience
About the Position:
This remote role involves working virtually with other team members and clients across Canada. You will help provide automated back-office solutions to consultants, professional service businesses, and other small businesses, allowing them to focus on their clients.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Full-Cycle Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of accounting and corporate tax (CPA or finalist preferred) with the ability to service all client needs.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Microsoft Excel, passionate about using technology to simplify work and improve processes.
- Growth-Oriented: Eager to grow their career alongside the company and play a key role in improving systems and processes.
- Leadership Skills: Can guide, mentor, and support a team while delivering top-notch customer experiences.
- Hands-On Approach: Willing to support the team when needed, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and Reliable: Highly responsible, ethical, and trustworthy, with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct client accounting reviews, setups, and year-end journal entries
- Manage CRA filings for various taxes and oversee bank reconciliations
- Handle client payrolls and rebuild past periods during onboarding
- Maintain and enhance client relations through phone, email, and app chat
- Complete regular file reviews and ensure work integrity
- Guide, mentor, and teach junior staff
