About the role:
ChargeLab is looking for a Junior Controller to manage the finances of our Series A company. You will manage strategic accounting and administrative initiatives including client and vendor relations, inventory management, revenues and COGS recognition and equipment leasing, as well as reporting and investor relations. You will also oversee day-to-day accounting and financial ops with the support of an outsourced fractional CFO bookkeepers and accountants.
ChargeLab has a $3 million+ annual payroll run rate with significant operations in both Canada and the United States. You should be comfortable with both US and Canadian financial systems, regulations, and reporting requirements.
What you’ll do:
Manage day-to-day accounting, financial and administrative ops, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, credit, debt, and reporting.
Work with an outsourced fractional CFO and accountants while taking ownership over the accuracy of company statements, books, and reporting.
Oversee the company’s finance IT systems (Salesforce, QuickBooks, Stripe, Plooto, Dext, Salesforce and other platforms that may be adopted from time-to-time).
Work with Product and Engineering teams to ensure our software products properly handle revenues and taxes.
Oversee all audit and internal control operations.
Work with the CEO and Vice Presidents to review and set the company’s budget on a quarterly basis.
Ensure compliance with financial laws and guidelines, considering both ChargeLab’s Canadian and US entities.

Qualifications:
5+ years of accounting experience in tech or an adjacent industry.
Previously success in a senior bookkeeping/accounting role.
Proficiency in Google Sheets, QuickBooks, Plooto, Salesforce, Netsuite, and other tools. You don’t need to be fluent in all these programs, but the more the better.
Experience with venture-backed startup and remote work is a strong asset.
CPA or other relevant qualifications is an asset.
