Job description
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to work closely with our finance team at our office located in North West Mississauga (Dixie/Derry). Responsibilities and qualifications for the position are noted below and we are looking for an individual who is looking to grow with our group of companies.
Responsibilities:
- Processing day to day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, posting and recording Accounts Receivable and monthly entries for multiple entities.
- Able to understand and modify complex accounting processes to achieve efficiencies and reduce manual intervention.
- Managing all aspects of A/R, billing, and month-end.
- Managing monthly bank reconciliations for various bank accounts and balance sheet reconciliations for multiple entities
- Preparing month end journal entries including accruals and intercompany entries.
- Managing monthly revenue and expenses for accruals.
- Managing intercompany reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
- Facilitating payment of invoices due by sending monthly statement reminders and contacting customers.
- Assist on government tax audits and external financial audits.
- Additional ad-hoc analysis and reporting, and other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field. Enrollment in a designated program is an asset
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experienced with ERP systems, especially Quickbooks
- Detail oriented with strong work ethic and exceptional time management skills.
- Excellent communication, written and oral.
- Advanced Excel user including pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, complex formulas, etc.
- Self-motivated and result oriented who is positive, energetic and willing to take initiative.
- “Roll up sleeves” approach in order to accomplish all necessary tasks.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with various levels of employees
