This internship opportunity has a targeted duration of 4 months, beginning in May 2023.

Summary:
Gain knowledge and practical experience of Upstream Operations while pursuing a career in HSE field. Understanding of HSE policies and procedures, and how these apply to the work, understanding and managing risk taking Human & Organizational Performance into account.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Work with various HSE team members both in the office and field to support field activities in the Canadian Business Unit.
Scope includes working in Drilling, Completions, Well Intervention, Facility Engineering and Construction, Production Operations, and Major Projects to:
Understand how works get done in each of the operating areas, identify areas where things are working well, and improvement opportunities with recommendations.
Areas of support include serious injury and fatality prevention, learning teams, risk awareness & management, and OE process/initiatives deployment.
Support the development of Contractor OE Management plans.
Support environmental compliance and other assurance activities.
Assist with incident investigations & follow up.
Candidates must be willing and able to travel to field sites (drilling, completions, construction, operations) approximately 50-60% of the time.
Required Qualifications:
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Health or Safety or Environment or Occupational Health & Safety.
Demonstrated high level of academic performance.
Basic understanding of OH&S regulations and regulatory framework.
Strong computer applications knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
Energy related experience is an asset
