Reporting to the Director of Operations, as a CYH Program Manager you will:
· Commit to and demonstrate the Mission, Vision, and Values of Chrysalis Youth Homes.
· Coordinate and oversee the implementation of progressive programming through a
“Strength Based Program Philosophy” to promote positive outcomes that align with the
goals of children/youth.
· Work closely with individuals who have an intellectual disability, families, and community
partners for the provision of quality support and services.
· Manage the operations of multiple programs and service locations for Chrysalis Youth
Homes including internal leadership on Quality Improvement.
· Lead and manage staff teams and provide oversight and management of programs and
services to ensure they meet: Quality assurance measures (QAM), Health and safety
standards, MCCSS and CYFSA legislated requirements.
· Provide direct support to staff teams in facilitating relationships and initiatives to promote a
truly inclusive and participatory community program.
· Provide responsive, motivating leadership to create participatory, outcome directed teams.
· Create and model consistent application of positive behavioral support plans; oversee data
collection and adherence to plans, as appropriate.
· Participate in staff hiring, training, orientation, and evaluating personnel and professional
development.
· Discuss progressive disciplinary measures with staff as needed and document progressive
disciplinary actions in staff files/records.
· Adhere to program budgets and support Senior Management Team in budget
management.
· Assure completion of administrative responsibilities as required by Chrysalis Youth Homes
and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.
· Resolve moderately complex program concerns or issues and develop potential solutions.
· Build rapport with staff colleagues, families, and community representatives to create
opportunities with people to realize their aspirations, form social connections and promote
personal growth.
· Collaborate with Chrysalis Youth Homes’ directors to implement activities that meet and
align with the organization’s strategic direction, quality enhancement initiatives, and
Chrysalis Youth Homes’ policies and procedures.
· Represent Chrysalis Youth Homes in consultation and cooperation with Children’s Aid
Society placement teams during placement planning conferences and any other meetings
as directed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in child and Youth care or degree (CYC) or the equivalent combination of
education and experience.
· A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in prior management roles that includes leading staff teams and working collaboratively with individuals,
families and community partners.
· A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in working with at-risk children/youth who exhibit
mental health exceptionalities and behavioral disorders in a residential setting and/or child
welfare environment.
· Ability to speak fluent English and demonstrate proficient comprehension and written
communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to build a supportive, cohesive team.
· Creative and responsive communication and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to change, maintaining and promoting a positive
attitude with self and others.
· Sensitivity and respect for diversity in all areas, including age, culture, and language.
· Ability to adjust work hours to meet program needs and facilitate outcome.
· Valid “G” Class Driver’s License and reliable vehicle is required.
· Vulnerable Sector Background Check (cleared within the last 6 months).
· Extensive knowledge of the requirements under the Quality Assurance Measures Act (QAM)
· Extensive knowledge of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services’ (MCCSS)
licensing requirements
· MCCSS licensing audit experience
· Must be able to cover any on-call emergency shifts as needed.
