Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing
The manager reports to the Director, Product Positioning & Support . The Manager may have a dotted line to other Directors or Senior Managers within the Product Delivery , Administration and Support team as well as within the broader product development Team based on organizational needs. The Incumbent will be a key member of the team supporting multiple product analytics, positioning content and support functions across the Institutional, Mutual Fund, ETF and Managed Solutions product platforms. Manager may also work closely with our Product Regulatory teams on filings that support the offer. The Manager will support the day-to-day management of the products, including marketing and sales support, competitor analysis.
How You’ll Succeed
Product Positioning & Support – Contribute to the development of product positioning and support strategies to ensure effective and efficient support for CAM distribution, product development and other key partners in relation to CAM products.
Undertake research and analysis to determine the best approach for determining the product positioning across advisors, channels and segments.
Develop the content for sales specific support materials for the sales force and business needs.
Support the regular analysis and activities for the Annual CFR review across channels in collaboration with various stakeholders within CAM and CIBC.
Product Support & Administration – Responsible for the management of the CAM Product Mailbox for all product and industry queries, this is a key central point for product information coming from our internal sales teams and CAM functional departments.
Work with the key accounts leads in Retail and Institutional to support all national accounts activities for CAM products such as Quarterly reporting requirements, annual attestations, RFP’s including Marketing brochure updates etc.
Provide ongoing support in the delivery of programs, products, industry related information, while ensuring that all activities are consistent with CIBC directives and those of other partner and internal areas.
Responsible for the Review of Management Reports of Fund Performance/Financial Statements semi-annual review for Renaissance & CIBC.
Assess competitive environment, client and IA needs, business requirements, pricing, distribution, revenue impacts, and marketing positioning
Contribute. to research and reporting on industry trends
Product Analytics & Research – Provide analytics that assist in the development and implementation of annual strategic and tactical business plans for the Product Development & Management team.
Provide analytics and support of our own products on a regular basis that can be used to define positioning opportunities or enhancement opportunities
Provide analytics to CIBC Asset Management Marketing and Sales teams to develop and support marketing, lead generation, sales campaigns and other initiatives, while also assisting in the development and launch of sales and prospecting tools
Contributes to team research ideas and efforts (sales aids, presentation decks, research reports, etc.)
Cross-Functional Relationships – The role requires collaboration and interaction with multiple internal partner groups to achieve business objectives. Internal CAM & CIBC Groups will typically include, but may not necessarily be limited to CAM Sales, Commercial Banking and Wealth Management Marketing and communications Teams, Business controls.
Who You Are
Knowledge of investment and mutual fund products
3-5 years of Product management/ marketing and/or research experience
Highly motivated individual with strong multi-tasking and time management skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Strong analytical skills – CFA candidate preferred
Industry accreditations an asset (e.g. CFA, CFP, CIM)
Flexible, results oriented, organized, resourceful and used to working under time constraints
Knowledge of current financial markets and an understanding of the forces that influence them
Proficient/strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
