What You’ll Be Doing
The Senior Trade Finance Analyst is a senior specialist role, responsible for the Documentary Credits and/ or Standby LC & Guarantees products. As a subject matter expert, you will be an integral member of a dynamic, hardworking, production focused team dedicated to the success of CIBC Trade clients on a global basis. The role is located in Toronto and works closely with internal partners in Capital Markets, Commercial Banking, Small Business Banking and Retail Banking.

How You’ll Succeed
Demonstrate a keen understanding of Documentary Credits and/ or Standy LC & Demand Guarantees, and associated ICC Rules and Regulations i.e. UCP600, URDG758 and ISP98.
Master all aspects of the internal technology platforms i.e. Trade360 and adhere to the documented operational procedures and regulatory standards.
Contribute to ad hoc projects as assigned; this is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to multi-task while maintaining a professional demeaner in support of CIBC’s stated values of Trust, Teamwork and Accountability. Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Proactively anticipate client needs and effectively manage client expectations. At CIBC our purpose is to deliver products and services that support our clients’ success.
Work collaboratively with internal partners across the Bank to ensure the timely and effective delivery of business objectives through proactive consultation and follow-up where necessary.
Demonstrate excellent listening, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing is required, and ability to do the same in French would be considered an asset.
Industry recognized certifications are recognized and supported; Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) and/ or Certificate for Specialist in Demad Guarantees (CSDG).

You can demonstrate a minimum 3+ years’ experience in Trade Finance Operations role in a reputable Financial institution specifically handling Documentary Credits and/ or Standby LC & Guarantees.
