CIMT College
CIMT College is looking for Personal Support Worker (PSW) program instructor for Supervision of the students at a clinical facility for Clinical Practicums. This program is registered with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. The successful candidate would be required to follow CIMT College’s policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field
Visiting the clinical facility for supervising the students
Administer and marks quizzes, assignments, exams and/or other assessments to monitor and evaluate students’ progress according to guidelines and procedures
Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student marks promptly
Provide feedback on student performance
Arrange feedback from students on the instructor, content, and facility at the end of each course
Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multi-cultural environment
Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude
Maintain attendance records accurately
Provide support to the admissions team with potential students who have questions about the program or future career
Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation
Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information
Stay current in the subject matter through professional development
Display an attitude of teamwork and problem solving
Perform other related duties as required
Skills Required
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems
Excellent oral and written communication to present information in a way that students will understand as well as adapt to the different learning styles
Flexible to travel to the clinical facilities as required
Flexible to work between 7:00 am – 3:00 pm / 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm from Monday to Friday
Qualifications
Must be a Personal Support Worker with a college certificate and an NACC certificate from a PSW program, post 2015
Must present with a minimum of three (3) years current, relevant work experience in a Canadian clinical environment, preferably in a long-term care/hospital/community/chronic care setting; and
Meet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
