As a Human Resources (HR) Consultant, you will deliver compensation services in our Centre of Expertise within Human Resources – Total Rewards. You will also collaborate with HR partners and customers to ensure that compensation solutions address business needs and are appropriately aligned with corporate governance responsibilities. Primary duties include:
- Provide strategic compensation consultation for an assigned customer group.
- Complete analysis and conduct job evaluation for new and existing positions.
- Chair and/or participate as a voting member on corporate job evaluation committees.
- Interpret and apply compensation policy and/or collective bargaining agreement articles related to compensation issues.
- Support partners in implementing corporate compensation policy and programs.
- Participate in salary surveys and market analysis as needed.
- Participate in corporate compensation related projects and initiatives, such as job evaluation, market pricing, and compensation disclosure.
Qualifications
- A degree in Commerce/Business, Social Sciences, Human Resources, or a related field plus at least 5 years of directly related experience.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
- A Chartered Professional Human Resources (CPHR) designation and/or a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation;
- Experience working in a multi-union environment;
- Experience in compensation, including job evaluation, policy and/or program design, and market surveying and analysis;
- Experience in project management.
- The ability to work under general direction, take initiative, and well-developed communication skills to synthesize information.
- A strong client service orientation, well developed communication skills, and the ability to work effectively individually or within a team.

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
