We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-kwuh-tlum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The Recreation division provides innovative recreational and cultural programs and services that support healthy active living to meet the needs of our community. We are seeking candidates with excellent customer service skills, cash handling experience and problem solving skills which are essential to this position. As a Registration Clerk/Receptionist, you will assist with processing admissions, membership sales, program registrations, and receive payments. Sound knowledge in a front office environment, telephone, keyboarding/data entry skills, computer knowledge and, at minimum, completion of Grade 12 is required. Customer service experience is key for this role.
You can anticipate a lively, fast-paced environment plus opportunities for personal and professional growth. Shifts typically involving a combination of weekdays, weekends and evenings with the opportunity for some early morning shifts or later evenings to provide flexibility. The City offers a CUPE hourly rate of $23.86 – $27.98 (2022 rates) as well as 12% in lieu of benefits for these auxiliary positions. The City has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
